Anchored just off the coast of Ischia, we tender ashore to explore the historic Castello Aragonese—a medieval fortress perched on a volcanic islet, connected to the main island by a narrow stone causeway. Once inside, we wander through ancient corridors, quiet chapels, and lush terraced gardens, all with panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Rich with history, the castle has served as a royal residence, monastery, and military stronghold. It’s a striking glimpse into the island’s layered past and a highlight of our time in Ischia.
